RUSSELL WATSON SERENADED COBBLES OF CORONATION STREET AT THE TOUR WITH CHRISTMAS EVE CAROL CONCERT
Coronation Street The Tour teamed up with Smooth Radio to bring Russell Watson to the cobbles of the former Corrie set on Christmas Eve for a magical Christmas carol concert. Tickets to the intimate event, which was hosted by Smooth’s charity, Make Some Noise, sold out within 90 minutes.
The Christmas Eve concert included a performance by Robert’s the Bakery Brass Band before Russell serenaded visitors from the balcony of Underworld with classic Christmas songs including Silent Night and Walking in a Winter Wonderland.
The concert rounded off twelve days of Carols on the Cobbles where local choirs and brass bands were invited along to perform in front of iconic locations such as Audrey’s Salon, Underworld and the Rovers Return.
Schools from around Greater Manchester and Lancashire including Kirkham Grammar School, The Oaks School, Bolton and Hazlehurst Primary School, Bury, came along to the Tour to sing Christmas carols and songs to visitors and add an extra dash of magic to Christmas on the Cobbles.
Visitors to Christmas on the Cobbles also got to experience Christmas as it is seen on Coronation Street complete with snow covered roof tops.
Christmas on the Cobbles will run until January 11th, tickets are available at the usual price and can be booked at www.ticketmaster.co.uk/coronationstreet.
